Featured Video: Helm - Release the Eagles

Monday, July 20th, 2009

HELM’s Video for debut Single ‘Release the Eagles’. Filmed, Directed, Produced by Talon Clemow.

From their myspace - http://www.myspace.com/ghostatthehelm - Mat, Scott, Ryan, Lucas. Four seasoned musicians who have come together to write music that they would want to listen to themselves as well as enjoy playing. Still in its early stages of growth, HELM looks to hold an exciting future for the band & homegrown music, having managed to put together an album of extremely strong and original songs in just over a six month period since first forming.

As far as the music goes and what to expect? True to songwriter Lucas Stone’s approach, fans of anything ranging from inspiring artists such as Cult of Luna & Isis right through to our own Cog, Tension, The sea shall not have them or even Pink Floyd to Tool to Meshuggah will find more than enough to split their eardrums with. This is BIG, epic experiMETAL rock…?!

Video Voyeurism: Joel Davies - When I’m with You

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

Musicadium Artist, Joel Davies has decided to donate 100% of the sales profits from the first 10,000 songs to charity - www.msf.org. Check out his great film clip for his song, When I’m with you, featured on Rage on ABC2 in Australia.

From Joel’s MySpace:

Two and a half years ago in ‘06, I realised I needed to do something about the unhappiness in the world. I picked up a guitar, and learned to sing and write. My music is only a vehicle for me to talk about helping others. I do it because it is the right thing to do. This first album is now available through iTunes. I have decided to donate 100% of the sales profits from the first 10,000 songs to charity - www.msf.org. I have put a number on it to help us with a target.

Wouldn’t it be nice to live in a world without hunger, poverty, violence or discrimination; where every man, woman or child has the ability to contribute? The people we help, will have the ability to help others someday. Also, please forward this to your network to spread the awareness. Remember, this is not about me. Together, we can move our world forward. Nothing is impossible. You can begin with a simple smile… =)

This week we just had to show off Omni Anti’s film clip for their track ‘Blackbird’ which had it’s world premiere viewing at the Chiki/Musicadium ‘With Digital Love’ showcase that rocked out at Barsoma on November 25th. Directed by Jasper St Aubyn West, this film clip is visually stunning, and also at times unexpected. The metamorphisis of a blackbird into different band members is awesome! Check out the film clip here, or their debut EP ‘Blackbird’ on Omni Anti

This week we bring you Free Agent Crew’s new video for their track ‘Snakebite’ and we think we’ve hit a winner with this one. This act has been a long time favourite at the Musicadium office since we discovered them earlier in the year. The illustration aspect of this clip is a really effective concept and creates another level of interest to an already pretty funky video. (The boys are also quite easy on the eye, so ladies (and gents) strap yourself in!)
