Sydney Schoolgirl Impresses with Slick Production and Rock Solid Songs

This week Musicadium presents to you a Sydney Schoolgirl who has done more in her 15 years than some of us will manage to achieve in a lifetime - Bianca.

Bianca has performed at places such as the Sydney on Sale Expo, Kids World Expo, Kids Universe, Starlight Foundation Gala, Darling Harbour Australia Day celebrations, Entertainment Quarters and the Sydney Spring Carnival . She has also featured in numerous television commercials and editorial shoots, including the Maggi TV campaign that aired nationally around Australia and a national Australian idol commercial. Her debut film clip can be viewed on her website and we are in agreement at Musicadium that Bianca is an International pop star in the making that could rival the likes of Avril Lavigne and The Veronicas.

Musicadium currently distributes her debut EP ‘What Does It Matter’ and we will proudly admit to giving her record a big workout at the office as we were blown away by her song-writing skills and slick production. We had a chat with the young chanteuse about music, dance, and difficult to pronounce surnames!

Congratulations on your EP ‘What Does It Matter’, we love it at the Musicadium office!

Thanks heaps. I’ve worked really hard on it so it’s great to hear that you like it.

How long did it take you to record?

Including drums and strings etc. it took about a month on and off.

You are 15 years old, did you get some time off from school to record it?

No, I would have liked to but we did it in the holidays, after school and on weekends. lol

What are some of the bands that you are listening to at the moment?

Silverchair, The Used, Alicia Keys, We the Kings, Flight of the Conchords. I really listen to a bit of everything, even the Beatles.

You’ve done some acting work as well as performing at some great events. What is it about performing that you love?

I like to get up and show people what I’m capable of and it’s great to let them hear music that I’ve written. It’s also just a lot of fun.

When did you first start singing or when did your Mum or Dad realise that they had an extremely talented daughter?

I started singing when I was about 9 and it was really one of my dancing teacher’s who first got me to sing solo with the dance group and I’ve been singing ever since.

We discovered that you have a German background – have you always lived in Australia?

Yeah my dad is German but I was born in Melbourne and have lived most of my life in Sydney.

Have you ever had any funny attempts from people trying to pronounce your last name? (Oechsle)

Heck yes, omg all the time! I don’t think I’ve ever come across someone that can pronounce it without me telling them how.

Thanks for your time Bianca!

My pleasure =]
