Great comment, there, Angela! You're not wrong at all, I think that doing those things for a band who is "jaded and lacklustre" would only be healthy - get your passion for playing live again and find something new that makes you happy as a band! You can only get people excited about your music if you are excited about it too. (Well, it makes it a lot easier, that's for sure.)

Well as you stated at the end.. Change is good..as long as it is handled right. IF the revamp to the band looks strained, artificial and does not really reflect what the band is all about...then there is something very wrong with the marketing. Maybe a little too much over the top or an over-paid marketing budget?
Best thing is to send in the undercover marketers.. get the office juniors to go to the bands gigs and report back about what they FELT.. the the vibes of the fans.. and what the fans actually think and said..(this is what the Ladies Toilets were invented for)....
See how the band are performing..are they maybe a little "jaded and lacklustre"? Why? a short break from performing and a field trip to see how other bands of similar genre perform and see if they exude the charisms to keep trheir fans wanting more. You know somwetimes.. less is more too.
Don't overdo the image delivery..instead concentrate oin giving the members some lessons in music, singing and choreography..
(but dont do it in a way that makes them feel as if they are inadequate.. )..

More of a Replenishing session..
give them a couple of weeks learning to be human again..;.take them to cafes in places where no one k nows them...and treat them like us lesser mortals..
then get them back onstage refreshed and humbled..
see what happens..........
